Walked outside about 2 a.m., & became star struck. Saw some Meteors as well from west central IN.

Seen them on the way home from work and the wife wasn't even angry after I woke her and seeing them. I have never seen them shimmer so much, be as red, cover as much sky or extend as fast east and south. Almost throught for a moment I could hear them but that isn't possible. Located on about the 44th parallel here. Peaked about 2:30 to 3:00 eastern time. Fell asleep before trying the Shortwave Radio bands to see what was whiped out and what would bounce in. A Solar Flare that big usually knocks out electronic and electrical equipment.

Hey B&D, I've heard them, sounds like like crackling static on the radio. If I remember right it was very cold, like 20 below, when I did hear them. I saw them too Sunday night on the way home from choir practice. They were bright enough to overpower the ususl night glow from Cheyenne twenty miles to the North. Ed

Actually got to see them all the way out here in West Central Arkansas too. We're supposed to be to far West, but we saw them. Fantastic!

Hi Bob, Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, Just saw your post. It was between 11 and midnight when we saw them. Don't know if you would see them or not. Like I said, I didn't think we would but we got surprised.

We saw them all the way down in Western NC at about 9:00pm. The only colors we saw was red and a blueish whiteish color. But it was still cool to see. TractorMike

Mornin' Scotty,

When I lived up in North Dakota by the highline those things hung in the sky like a clothesline. Almost as if you could reach up and grab 'em.

Never did get used to seeing the glow of the sun just beyond the due north horizon at midnight during the summer either. :>)
