I have a JD Model 1140 tractor. It is supposed to have 4 gears and hi - lo. The problem is it will not go into the last gear position (far right and down) It's like it hits a solid area and will not go into gear. Is there something other than splitting the case that can be done to fix the problem? Or am I missing something. They say it has a "creeper". I just got it so I don't know that much about it. I ordered a manual yesterday from Canada.

Thanks in advance for your help.

we have 2 a pony and an Electric

I think you could get it loaded with the pony BUT mostly the ponies are a WHOLE lot worse off than the main engine... if you can get the pony to run you should have much trouble with the big motor...

like they said running at all $5k I've seen some sloppy looking and sloppy running ones for $6K

get the om. there might be some interlock between the creeper and the gears (i think you can't shift into creeper on hi).maybe the shift cover (where the interlock is) was removed and incorrectly replaced.
