I have been a computer programmer for 15 years. Just a few quick notes to add to what was entered a few days ago. Besides F keys, there are many shortcuts available but they may be different on different computers and in different applications. You can find a list of them for your computer under Help in things like Microsoft WORD and WORDPERFECT. They usually work by highliting (selecting)a piece of text and then holding the ctrl key down and pressing another key. For instance ctl + c will copy what is hilited. Then move the cursor to where you want the copy inserted and use ctl + v to paste what you had hilited. There are a lot of these control keys out there so don't get discouraged. Just pick a few and start using them. Hope this helps.

No, my elder brother tagged me with that but I never did figure out where he got it for sure. I think it had to do with me being a gofur at the time...My dad tagged me with eastbiscuit right after I poured oil on his fresh cement around 1950. I was 3 or 4 and I still hear variations of that...The cement is holding up better than I am too!

Yes for the person that knows how to use them you can do all kind of stuff with short cuts and special keys.
Try this.....
Hold the alt key down. Then with the numbers on the right side of key pad press 1285 Then let up on the alt key and see what shows up. I do not think this web site will let me put it on here (it does not read it correctly) but it is a clover. ¢À
Try any number combination. There is over a thousand special characters.
While the guy that invented the mouse made it easy for the average Joe to use a computer it sure does not match what the key board will do.

Hi John and Joe,

Under Accessories, then System Tools, then Character Map will bring up a dialog box with thousands of different characters for all fonts installed.
