i spread gravel and dirt for a living, as of 3 months ago, and had a jd 790 with no front end loader. i liked it bcause it was small and easy to maneuver in tight places since most of my jobs are residential and are between 50 and 150 yards of material. anyone else used a 3830 on a small job? not to mention this tractor requires a 6 foot boxblade as opposed to the 5ft i'm used to. is this too much tractor? i havn't signed on the dottedline yet.

Hey Jase. I too have been looking at the 3830 tractor. If all you are doing is dragging rocks, maybe it would help to call the rental places and see what they would rent you. I have a feeling that they would recommend a 20Hp four wheel drive tractor for the work you are doing, precisely because it is much smaller and maneuverable. With the four wheel drive and the gearing available, you should not need as much horsepower to do what you are doing. I love the 3830 for farm work. It is a very decent tractor.

THAT SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD THING TO DO. DOES THAT PAY PRETTY GOOD ? IS IT HARD TO FIND JOBS DOING THAT ?
