Currently, without naming tractor brands, I have an orange tractor from the 40's, a red tractor from the 50's, a green tractor from the 60's, and a blue tractor from the 70's. I also own one truck each of a Dodge, Chevy, Ford, and GMC. Im not intending to brag or inflame anyone, just enjoying what I have at the moment, before it changes. Anyone have a greater diversity?

Great. A nice post I can finally reply to.

In the spirit of harmony I will jump in...

2 AC
2 JD
1 Ford
1 Farmall
1 International
1 Massey Ferguson

Cars I've got Ford, Honda, Chrysler, GM

Boots are Caterpillar

All my titanium body parts are by Merck I think.

Trucks are Chevy and I stick with 'em because I've got so many parts trucks ;)

Wife is a long dark haired olive skinned Greek brand. Good stock. Only quality problem with her is that she was dumb enough to marry me and have three children.

3 old blue, 1 '65 blue, 1 '79 blue, 1 '64 Gray, 1 63 Green, F/S/D trucks. Sounds about right. Gotta have diversity these days....it's the going thing. Keeps you from being predjucided and referring to your friends as being color bling.

Course, "old" might need some help. Looks like he's a goner with his 6 greens. Grin

Industrials huh! Well, I guess that's ok if you aren't a color talker, but I never coffeeshopped with anyone talking yellar, cept maybe a cat guy..... naw never heard a cat guy.

Seriously, at the real coffee shops around here they talk colors only. Kinda like a jargon. Have to understand the jargon to talk the talk.

Best,

Mark

What can I say I have more Oliver green then JD green. 2-77s 1-S88, 1-88, 1-HG crawler and 1-OC-3 crawler. But my pride is a 1935 JD-B on steel was my grand fathers tractor, he got it some time around 1940. It smokes a lot but it also has the rings in it from when he used it on the farm in OK.

So, beins we're yakin for fun and all, what is it about Oliver that makes that your brand of choice?

We have a few show up around here; even had a guy that sold old iron (and whatever else he could) and named his business "Mr. Oliver".

Guess you could say it started when I got my NH-850 baler. I had an Oliver 77 and it sure did try to pull it but of course it was a little small for it 38HP. I also had a Ford 801 that is around 46HP and the old 77 would pull circles arond the ford. Then this year I tried to bale hay with a Farmall-450 which is around 55HP an it could just do it. Then I picked up an Oliver S88 also a 55 HP tractor and it pulled circle around the 450 and did it with out lugging down

Guess you could say I agree with the old Oliver logo. Oliver for the tough pulls. And so far all the Olivers I have seem to live up to that. I even have one for sale at this time and I know it will out pull any on my other Olivers

Just now caught on to what you were saying, yes, they are rusty, that's where the handle came from, well, not all are rusty, the 1940 H has a one year old paint job, looks good. Another H is red as it should be, but I think it was painted with a broom, without cleaning it up first. And then there's the 1940 M, it's, well it's not chicken, but it sure is yellow.

So's hows an M get a color change like that?
