Thanks Allan, for bringing this topic up. Kim, my hats off and my shoes wiped for you for the work you do here, and hope you get well soon!!
On the other topic brought up "CONTRIBUTIONS".
I"m semi-retired, partially disabled, and on limited income, but I still sent 25 bucks a few months ago, and about to send more, just to keep this site going.

Wait a minute. Thought when I joined was just some sort of donation, so told $100.00. It came back and said something about $50.00, or $50.00 per year was maximum contribution, so that's what I gave.

You've got a 2 year subscription? How'd you manage that? What did I do wrong, and what am I missing Mark?

Mark.

Dunno. I saw something (little box on the bottom of the home page) about a suggested donation of $8 per year to "join up". I sent Kim a check for $20. Figured that was good for 2 years.

All there is to it. Did I miss something?

Mark

I'll be okay. I have a stomach ulcer and my thyroid has disappeared. Two separate problems that aren't much fun but things could be much worse so I'll keep on playing with the hand I've been dealt - and enjoy life all the while.

Thanks for asking!
Kim

I was operated on for those ulcers quite a dew years ago. Be fore The doctor could find them, would not show on any tests, he would put me on medication for a few months and the hurt in my stomach would dissapere for a while and return again. Was only after one morning when I woke up throying up blood did the dr. find it.
What I would like to pass on is that when ever I started hurting if I would eat some lettuce that was fixed with an oil and vinigar dressing and wilted(I eat a lot fixed like that, at times will fix 2 or 3 heads at a time, when I want a plate I just put in microwave and heat up) it would stop the hurting, everybody thought that it would cause it to hurt more till my Father in law, pharamest for 50 years with a degree in bacteroligy(?) got to think back to his schooling he come to the conclusion that the vinigar being an acid it was netrulazing the stomac acid and that is why I would feel better after eating that lettuce. I would think that the vinigar in any form bight help you and it cann't hurt anything or compromize any meication you are on. Leroy

Kim,

I hope you're feeling better. I love your site and have subscribed in the past. I don't have a clue when I need to reup. You may think I'm crazy but in years past I read Prevention magazine and one home remedy for a stomach ulcer was stewed cabbage. No way did I think that would be good for an ulcer. I mentioned this to a lady at work who had problems with ulcers and she tried it and said it really did help. I can't recommend it personally but if all else fails you may wish to give it a try. Phil

The best think you can do if you have stomach ulcers is to eat honey.

Get well soon Kim. Sorry about all the trouble that's been going on here. Hopefully we can start acting like adults before long. I'm sure that would do much to make your life easier. Thanks for everything. John

Thanks John. I think people have forgotten that they are expected to "remove their hat and wipe their feet" before entering these forums... ;)

Disagreements are fine, but we need to act like ladies and gentlemen and express ourselves in a way that is constructive and not destructive. I for one appreciate our differences - but I have zero tolerance for unkind words. There have been many here of late. Hateful words meant to belittle and degrade.

Thanks for listening,
Kim

Hey Kim,

Heck, I don't pay much attention to myself, the things I say and maybe I'm the one causing all the trouble, I don't know. I'm sure gonna try to do a better job with my neighbors from now on, at any rate.

This site has become, believe it or not, almost indispensable to me; not only from an information & parts availability provider, but also from a human aspect.

I've met more good friends since I started pokin' around in here a year or so ago, than I have in the past 40 years all put together.

I for one, really appreciate what you do.

Allan

Allan and John and everyone else on this board. I wish I had the time and the money to jump in my truck and meet all of you personally. I am however heading for Virginia (see my granddaughters) and then to Florida (check out vacation property I own after all the huricanes).
Any one along the way (leaving from South Central Minnesota) send me a note (my e-mail is open). It would be great just to stop by and say HELLO.

Allen,

I think a lot of our problems on here are misunderstandings. I know I kid around a lot and say things in a gaming spirit. We're talking to the world on this site and not only does everyone not feel great simultaneously, different things mean different things to different people.

What could be a good old boy slap on the back in Texas could be a duelling insult in Washington state.

Take the work "Bloody". I know we have Brits on here and when I was in UK this was THE expression of distaste. In Texas it meant absolutely nothing.

We'll make it ..... ....if you'd just quit insulting me. Grin.

Mark
