Had one of those some years ago. I was on a trailer and powered a pipe threading machine. The word was that it had come out of a lighthouse sometime around 1950. Never failed to start on the first turn or two of the handcrank, but the downside was it was only rated 1500 watts and probably only put out 1000. Great old machine, for those of us who like old machines. I particularly liked the sound of that little engine running. You could tell that it was made to run and run and run and.....

You might want to list some of them on the Sparck Arc's classifieds.
Do a search for "Harrys Old Engines" then click on the Spark Arc's Link
It's where all the generator and Light plant Guy's hang out!

I think you need to build a HUGE shop to put those eyesores in, just to get them out of the yard. ;)

Well with all those it seems like you ought to get at least one running! Maybe a second while you are at it as a spare. Just wondering, how did you come to get so many?

Well aquainted with them. I think they would run for ever. Never heard of one wearing out. I think they were rated at some thing like 3 HP. very little pistons and slow speed. One I hand cranked for years looked the same without the auto start, but was 110 DC.

Very interesting. The possibilities are endless. Don't know the first thing about them, but the wheels in my head are going round and round.
