When I shut my tractor off to refuel there is a huge amount of pressure in the gas tank and the gas is boiling. This can't be right. There is a leak in the muffler which makes me think this could be the problem. I'm sorry if I posted this a while back and you replied but I couldn't find it.
Thanks for any input or advice
I'm afraid its going to blow up.
RC

I had the problem of pressure in the tank on my Jubilee awhile back. Noticed that tank was leaking fuel around the seams. Don't remember if the gas was boiling or not but, seems the new fuel cap I had just installed was the wrong one. After re-fueling, I just put the cap back on the tank and did not tighten it down. Tank quit leaking and I used the tractor until I could get to town to get another cap.(can't remember how long, hours, days, weeks?) HTH..... .....E. Ray

ROC

Is your gas cap vented. Do you have a shield between gas tank and muffler. On the other hand,
If the gas cap wasnt vented the engine would cut out sometimes.

Not if it gets hot enough in that tank before a partial vacuum could be formed! Depends on how full the tank is at start up, I suppose.

Vent hole in gas cap open ok? Heat baffle above muffler ok? Leaking muffler leaking up in direction of fuel tank? Livestock gate shut?

Do you have a working temp gauge to tell you if the engine is overheating and then heating the fuel tank ?

I think OLD ART has the right idea but the hole in the muffler is on the bottom. The cap is vented I can hear the pressure hissing out. I'll put new exaust on and get a new gas cap and see what happens. tank gets so hot I can't touch it. Yes there is a heat guard above the muffler.

I don't have time for a funeral now anyway.
Thanks ROC

Please bare with me I am a rookie on tractors thats why I 'm here to learn from the mastsrs. Enuf sucking ue

I noticed on the side of my tractor below the valve cover there is a cap with some type of ventelation. Crank case maybe but it was blowing hot air straight up at the gas tank. I adjustes the cap so it would blow away from the gas tank. Does anyone know of there is a hose missing that would tale the hot air away from the tank?

did not mean to be so harsh on you but no fire or injuries is the best. with that much blowby in your engine you need an averhaul probley have a piston broken or a hole in one the longer run it that way the more it will cost to repair. if you do it your self there is a lot of good advice hear to help may your days get better art.
