I have a McCormick-Deering W-12 and i need to find out what shade of red it needs to be painted. It has a hydrolic A-frame on the front, that carries and operates a 15 horse engine that operates a 4 foot long and 12inche wide auger and comes with a hay rake and old hay mower. I really don't want to sell it, but i may have to. I want to paint it, anyways. I know it should be red, but what SHADE of red-there are so many. This tractor is a real work horse and i want to mae it look like it did.I am in northern Arkansas. Thank you for any help you can give me.

Mary, I don't have the mixing number for early red IH. Sorry. I'm sure it can be found in the Red Power site. I do wish to tell you that you may actually decrease the value of your tractor by painting it. A collector usually likes to do that himself unless the job is done very proffessionally. However that proffessional job would probably be very expensive and only of value to you if you intend to keep your tractor. The most $$ for return investment is to clean your tractor thouroughly so the buyer can see what he his getting. The W-12 is a cute and somewhat hard to find colletable. Good luck to you.
