A bit off topic but I thought that the 12" of white stuff on the ground up here might make some of your appreciate just how nice your green (or brown) grass is. Started on Saturday and has been on and off ever since. Temperature is hoovering at and below the freezing mark so it's not brutally cold, just white. Still some crops in the field and I guess they'll be there till spring if it ever shows up.

Just another Beutiful Day her in Sunny Southern Arizona !!! Cooling off real nice here, mid 70"s. Must blew all that hot air over into Texas. Supposed to be some moisture by Thursday. Cotton harvest is in full swing so it is bound to rain. Logging in from a motel in Benson Az. Working out in the field this week.

Hey Mike, Please keep that white stuff up north... I'm trying to build a barn here! (central Wyoming)... we've yet to have a hard freeze... still have flowers in the garden! I've checked the extended forecast & it looks like 50's & 60's for highs and mid 30's to low 40's for lows... I've never seen a fall like this one! Trying to take full advantage!!!!
Regards,
DL

Alberta Mike, you guys have my sympathy its 52degrees here in Ohio and I was complaining till I saw your post. My wife and I were talking about traveling up there in the summer of 05 but we can't figure out when that is. We want to travel on a bike. I spent two long winters in Duluth Minn. and that was bad enough. But I know it has to be beautiful up there. We buy Mustard seed from Sask. and it is always interesting to here from the drivers up there.

I got to agree with Shep.
Fall is a great time of the year.
The air has that clean clear crisp feel to it even at 76°

See we do not get one front all summer long. (Well this year we did get one but that was unusual for us.)
So when the first cold front or should I say cool front or maybe even wind change line comes through the air has that fall feel to it.
It cleans out the air like a spring rain and leaves that crisp feeling.

Well crisp must be a relative term. I'll argue the point in Feb. When that wind change sends -20 up my pant leg to crispen things a bit :-o Right now rainy and soggy @ 49deg.

John,

Let me know when that cold front decides to leave the station. We had to turn the AC back on yesterday. Did have some rain today but still hot. 85 degrees but thats only 'cause its still cloudy. Hard to do logging when its so hot. FL panhandle. Santa Rosa County.

Rain for the past few days in western Washington. Nice "Indian summer" for about 2 weeks before that. Temperature hasn't dropped below 45 yet. Pretty tolerable.

Winnipeg, Manitoba. No snow real here yet (had some east of the city). It's hard to believe a week ago we had around 80 degrees for several days and now just frickin' cold rain and more of it. Farmers here had their 10 days to harvest until it turned wet again. I figure it'll stay about the same until around the end of the month and it'll freeze up for the winter. It's been a bummer this year.

I'll trade for your snow. Had a hail storm here (80 miles south of St. Louis, Mo) yesterday, beat the roof to pieces, punched a fist sized hole in the vinyl siding and dimpled 2 vehicles. About 4 miles away it collapsed a building at a lumber yard briefly trapping 7 people. One was hospitalized. Apparently a young tornado.

We had over 5"s of rain yesterday. It's STILL raining.

Mike;
Sunny and headed for 10c this afternoon,on Canada's right coast. Calling for the same for the rest of the week. Heavy frost over night, got a little fire on to take the chill out of the house. Looks like a day for spreading straw on the blue berry field, almost as much fun as picking rocks. Take care, Roy
