The posting below reminds me of what my father always told me.

Sometimes it is better to remain silent, and appear ignorant, than to speak and remove all doubt.

THINK ABOUT IT!

I resemble that remark. Once worked on a lady"s phone, she wasn"t there when did it, when left told her male secretary "When you see your boss, tell her...". The guy was blind. I didn"t mean it that way. Was speaking to some "NOW" lady and said, "What you guys needs to do...". The lady went off on me, "Guys? Guys? Where do you...".

Heck, I do it all the time. I have a mouth and two perfectly good feet, so why not...

Have a nice weekend (thought that out first).

Mark,

Thanks for the therapy so early in the morning; I really needed that. I didn't know it was okay to "insert foot". :>)

Weekend? What weekend? I thought it was only Tuesday! Boy, time gets away, doesn't it? :>)

Later ol' Pard,

You know the old saying "The apple falls not far from the tree"? Well, in my case, the tree (dad) was on a steep hill and when the apple (me) fell, it rolled down hill, a deer picked it up and ate it and then went a long way off before depositing the remains.

Yup, I think most of this stuff belongs over on Tales.
Well, I gotta go out and visit with a tree crew. Not that they'll be workin out in this rain. I'll pull up beside him, roll down the winder, he'll do the same and we'll visit. I'm outta here at 12:30 anyways.

Been at my desk since 5:00a.m I know I have buisness until at least 9:00 p.m. Hmmm! I must be non-union, GOP, rich, small buisness owner ready to take it in the shorts tax wise. I hope my car makes it home tonight. Welfare would be so much easier. I know I'd be driving the same car and the hours would be better.

Good luck to you John. I never left a place or had a place leave me that I wasn't better off. I have had a bunch of $hity jobs I hated. I punched the clock and kissed the boss. I'm on my own now for the last five years, at 42. I am working like a dog but can't wait to get to work (for me) every morning. I'm not making much and I have to fight the government (city, state and US)at every turn but at the end of the day I know what I am worth.. And know exactly who to blame for my problems. I do wish you well

Hey Slo-roll,

By golly, I think ya have a point.

Why don't we go down to the local hand-out offices, get all set up on welfare and food stamps and then drop over to the voting booth and elect ol' shifty, purple heart into office.

Then, we'd be just like the rest of the moochers over there on the left.

Heck, we gotta get in style; don't wanna be left out, ya know. It is a way of winning while being a loser! :>)

Our future President won the Silver Star and the Bronze Star (or the Navel version), all without his Daddy's help! It will be a grest pleasure to finally have a Commander in Cheif who was actually in the service of our country. I'm a farmer and a contractor and I'm doing what my people taught me, listen very carefully to what they have to say and then vote for the smart one. If you were one of Shrubs buddys (Haliburton, etc.) you wouldn't have to drive anywhere to get your welfare, just stick you head in the mail box once in a while and cash the government check.

So, what's the deal anyway?

Don't some people get the proper amount of oxygen quickly enough after birth, or what?

It just must be an 'air' thing or something, 'cause there is a definite lack of comprehension in evidence with this inverted and tilted view.

What a man says means very little, what that man has done and what he has produced through his life is who he really is. I could get up and say the same things and I would be just blowing smoke. We need to look through the smoke both candidates are blowing (saying) to see what is really there as a track record. You don't bet on a horse because he can snort the loudest or has the best teeth. You look at his track record foremost. Just a thought. DirtCo in Ok

Why don't you just accuse me of being gay, no wait, that might upset Cheany. Accuse me of being an ex-alcohol and cocaine abuser, no that might upset W. Accuse me of having short man's complex, nope, that would upset Rumsfeld. I got it say I didn't get enough oxygen or that I'm off my meds, takes me right back to 7th grade. Yep I'm convinced, George W. Bush has locked up the "I'm half laying, half sitting on my threadbare couch with a Burgie Beer resting on protruding gut, watching WWE crowd". Kerry's chances keeep looking better, just keep talking and you'll convince a view more folks to vote with their big head.

Volunteering for the Navy in the Vietnam era was the next best choice for staying out of Nam, right after Guard and Reserves. Navy was widely thought to be the branch least likely to get you killed in a rice paddy. The heros volunteered for the Army or Marines. The rest of us tried for the guard, reserves or Navy. Kerry in the Navy was no more a hero than George (and me) in the Guard. Any heroism connected with him disappeared, in my mind, when I saw him in the same photo with "Hanoi Jane" (Fonda) during that infamous visit to North Vietnam. A slap in the face to all of us.
