Okay,

Had this subcontractor who was havin' a little trouble meeting deadlines, makin' mistakes, and flat not holding up their end of the bargain. Although, I must say that the invoices to be paid always showed up on time. :>(

Then, last night I found out that they are supporters of ol' Square Jaw & Miss Piggy.

Tore up their contract and gave 'em the boot. I do not have to put up with stupidly on top of everything else. :>)

Yep, that's a what I think.

Allan

Ya gotta do what you gotta do, sometimes in reply to Allan in NE, 10-14-2004 18:13:11
Howdy Allen,

Most of what I do at my "day job" is to negotiate contracts, book contractors, take bids, and oversee the contractors "progress". (Some people think all I do is set at a computer and play....)

Generally, when a contractor has to be removed from a project, it is no less trouble than trying to complete a job, with a contractor that isn't qualified to do what they're TRYING to do.

In other words, the pain they'll try to inflict because of being booted, is no worse than trying to put up with their nonsense.

In the end, I'm responsible for what THEY do. If I want someone gone....they are gone.

Do what you know you gotta do....John

Allen,

I have to admire a brave man. Stick to your convictions.

Stupidity might be contagious, like the flu. I haven't heard of a stupidity shot.

Unfortunately, stupidity is not always fatal.

Allan;

You are not alone in running off a contractor.

We had one hired and he finally started work. Then he started cutting corners,so out the door he went.

Hired another contractor. He came in and stayed on the job till it was done. He didnt do the best job either.

I usually found I could do the work just as good as the pros. Takes me awhile tho.
