I'venever owned a tractor, but am going to need one for mowing and driveway maintenance at a rural home I am building. A neighbor has an equipment auction advertised including a MF 135 gas with 1200+ hours. It looks in reasonable shape. I don't know the year.

Would this serve my needs? What's a reasonable price range?

I have a 1969 Massey 135 Gas 3 cyl Perkins with over 9000 hours on it and it runs great! I have had to change the fuel filter once in a while over the years including the plugs and fluids but that is about it. I can still move 1800+ lb bails with rear forks and the power steering is great for plowing snow and grading roads. I gave 2600.00 for it but would take no less the 5,000.00 because it is such a nice tractor. Mark H.

An MF 135 with 1200 hours won't sell for a reasonable amount. It might well bring $5000 and be worth every penny. If you can afford it, it should make you a great tractor.

Need a tractor for home chores? Absolutely have power steering and a frontend loader with down pressure,3pt hitch,PTO, anything else is like having a three legged racehorse, dont mean to be so blunt but speaking from expierence.

Good Luck

I do not know your needs but most likely. The MF 135 was one of the nicest tractors made, especially if that one has power steering. Remember it is over 30 years old. 1200 hours? hard to believe that low, or did you mean the hour meter is broken?. I bid 3500 on a nice gas one this spring and did not get it.
