I have a clutch problem with my Farmall Model A. When you press the clutch pedal down all the way the clutch fork hits the fingers of the pressure plate. It makes a terrible noise and you can feel it in the pedal. You can see see the dented fork where it is hitting the clutch fingers in the image.

Does anyone know if this can be adjusted or is the wrong clutch possibly installed...?

Thanks, Tim

I did a super A a couple of months ago and had the same problem, I think the new clutch facing is thicker than the original. I was able to adjust the clutch finger bolts enough to clear it, and it workes fine. I looked up through the inspection hole to make sure it had clearance afterward. I had turned the flywheel, rebuilt pressure plate and disc, with new throwout bearing.

I'm not sure, but it seems to me that the only way for this to happen is if the throwout bearing face is badly worn. Also maybe check for excessive wear at the top where the throwout pivots too.
There is also a specification for the adjustment of the pressure plate fingers too, check the service manual for it. I've seen them come loose and get out of whack.
