Since most are of you are farmers I belive politics are important to most of you, but it's these want to be farmers with 1 old tractor and 5 acres that seem to clog this site get a grip people act like adults and we should be able to discuss anything almost.

XXX,
You must be on the short end of the stick here. You should ALWAYS talk politics when it get's down to the short rows. Did you talk politics when slick was in office? I bet you did..

The politics will wind down after the election. Presidential elections are of vital importance to farmers. Haven't you had the anticipatory joy of watching the mailbox for a brown envelope from the USDA,bringing glad tidings from the incumbent president; a little extra in election years? I love to hear what readers of THIS forum think about politics as well as tractors, weather etc. Farmers have interesting ways of deciding what are their greatest needs and who can best serve them. No other forum provides such an interesting menu of political thought. Thank you Kim for allowing this debate.

I cant agree with you, politics has been a way of life on the farm. Many a good heated argument over politics has graced your old tractor. Politicians in the past always showed themselves for farm shows, fall fairs, plowing matches etc.

I remember one plowing match they gave all the speakers a new manure spreader as a speaking platform. The member started his speech, saying this was the first time he ever had a manure spreader as a podium. An old farmer in the back yelled," and it's the first load, for the spreader." No my friend politics and farming go hand in hand.

Its none of my business! How dare you!I have enjoyed this site since day 1,and never I mean never have I seen the crap and garbage being talked about on this site that has filled up these boards from page 1 to page 10.Kim made a section on each board for just those types of discussions so that whacked offed indivuals could use this site to voice their opinions on these type of topics. But who cares about Kims hard work in maintaining this site?NOBODY!You all just fill it up with meaningless nonsence about what a&& hole is going to be president, which I could care less if either one of those full of crap a$$holes wins! Now say it none of my business when I cant read a post let along find the dam thing because rude and uncareing people fill up the board with a bunk of JUNK!

John,

I am totally against inflammatory or disrespectfull posts, but what the heck, with the rest of it! It's not like you can't skip over it, or it's gonna use up the whole Internet, and not leave room for one more tractor post!

John, tally up the replies to this post and put them in two columns, one for deleting the political posts and one against it. I believe that you are out numbered.
A LOT of the people that have used this board as a means to express their views have a lot to gain or lose depending on which party wins the white house this year. Apparently you think that just because it is Yesterdays Tractors, then we should all be restricted to topics that affect the tractors. Well, if we didn't have the type of government that we do, the possibliity exists that NONE of us could post anything at all. I think that if you don't like the poltical threads, then don't read them. I don't think that anyone has been unable to post a tractor related topic due to the political threads. It sounds to me like you are trying to force everyone conform to your way of thinking. That, my friend is unAmerican. You have a right to your opinion up to the point that you choose to FORCE it onto others. Asking Kim to delete all these posts would be doing a diservice to many hardworking people. I believe that it is a very healthy thing to be able to discuss these issues in a forum such as this.
Thanks KIM. I really appreciate the opportunity to read and post on this site.
John, Hang in there, In about four weeks, things will get back to normal. (I hope)

God Bless you all (you to John) and God Bless this country of ours!!

Britt

I NEVER asked KiM to delete any of the post! And yes, I think that since this is a tractor forum that it should be tractor related topics.I dont read the political threads,it just pisses me off when Ihave to lok on say page 4 for a topic tha twas posted two days ago becuase so much politcal crap has filled up the first three pages!Worried about it,no wont be long and this site will go the wya of the opthers I used to visit that are gone becuase of the same type of things!People will stop coming nhere becuae they cant get he help they need to fix thier tractor because of all the OT post!I will not go into my political veiws, but will say their will be alot of dissapointed people when their candidate of choice doesnt make it to the White House. As Ihave said, Ihave posted on this site for years, under differnt names and at times been cussed and banished becuase Iexpressed the way I feel or my veiws on subjects and sometimes got chewed out and sometimes praised,I have seen good honest people come and go and have lost a couple of friends on here that I miss dearly, but I keep coming back.Maybe ill just hang it up!

Hang in there John. Lots of unrest these days. I'd bet that a lot of the OT posting here these days is because one can vent here and maybe can't vent where they want to...surely it's frustrating.

Or maybe they know we love them and put up with venting when need be.

Don't hang it up . Rather Hang in there.

Mark

John,
Take a deep breath and have a glass of milk. When you have calmed down some, go back and read what you have written. I think that you need to lighten up some. As to wether or not you personally asked Kim to delete the posts, the header that you posted under was (Re: Kim, Please Delete All the Political Threads). After reading you posts, I thought that you agreed with the premise of deleting the political posts. If that was not the case, then I apologise.
A LOT of people on this board seem to like this back and forth talk about politics. Someone suggested that they start a political board. Well, most of us wouldn"t go there. We are interested in what others who have interests the same as ours have to say. People who own old tractors are generally people who at some time in their lives made their living on the land. This group of people have similar interests in life. Their opinions vary as to what color tractor is the best, and to which political party they think sould be in power. Some can be quite opinionated on these subjects and more. Personally, I enjoy reading these opinions. It gives me an idea of how others who share some of my interests think. This will all die down in about 4 weeks. Hopefully you will not leave, because your opinion is just as valuable as anyone elses.

There are two links available when using the "expanded" mode for reading threads. "Report to Moderator" and "Delete" are below the poster's name. I have never clicked on them so I don't know exactly how they work or what effect they have.
