Rusty fuel tank

I have a question similar to one just posted about a rusty fuel container. I have a rusty tank on my Fford NAA. I am planning to remove the tank and have it sandblasted, then coated with something. (suggestions?) Is sandblasting the best solution or is there a better (cheaper) route. The rust is a fine particulate the best I can tell.
Thanks,
Tom

i had same problem with my allis chalmers c fuel tank looked pretty bad tryed several things, then come across PERMATEX DISOLVER GEL got a tractor supply store ,dumped 12oz bottle in tank and rolled tank around so as to coat inside good then set it at every angle i could, let it set at each angle for about 10 minutes flusher with water till clear then half of box backing soda and water then treated with oil till i get it back on tractor i was amazed at what a good job it did ,for about $5.00 bucks it is worth a try. good luck Ralph

Thanks for the suggestions. I ordered some Kreem from the local cycle shop and will give it a try. I appreciate your time.

I used Kreem on both my Harley and Super A and was pleased with the outcome.

Is good stuff. Did my hog too, no problem so far with chipping or any of that. The Deere has a plastic tank, so no bother. But this winter will hit the Allis B and the wheel horses. My experience has been great for steel tanks. My scooter shop ordered through Drag Specialties or V-Twin. Use the tank prep, then coat.
