Sj check with local trucking companys they may have room for this tractor on a backhaul bacause with fuel now at $2.00 plus a gal it's not going to be cheap. but check with area flatbedders that would be your best bet just where is this coming from and where to? I may be able to suggest some body for you.

I just had one shipped from ohio to New york for
$500. The guy is a retired trucker that uses a pickup with a goosneck trailer.

SJ,

Post a message on the hauling schedule. You may be amazed at the deal you get. I bought a bucket last year in Whitefish Montana and needed it hauled to Kansas City. Trucking companies were quoting $1,200 and up. I posted on the hauling schedule and a gentleman happended to be traveling from Whitefish to Pennsylvania and agreed to haul it for $125. I had to meet him in Omaha (3 hours north), but I couldn't beat the price and met a heck of a nice guy to boot.

Good luck,

Dug

how do you all get this stuff hauled for 1.25 amile i haul cattle with a gooseneck and i need 2.00 a mile and thats not making much by the tlme i pay for fuel wear and tear on truck trailer insurance ext. i am not trying to be smart but this is 2004.i understand backhauls but at 1.25 a you can not afford to own a truck and trailer.

But what if you own the truck and trailer anyhow? The professionals have to cover fixed costs (depreciation, interest and payments, insurance), and the amateurs only have to cover variable costs (those that are only incurred because you made this particular trip- fuel, repairs and maintenance). As far as insurance is concerned, most amatuers "run naked", and the owner of the tractor is definitely taking a risk- but may be willing to take that risk in order to have a tractor hauled for a realistic price in relation to the value of the goods. The hauling board, in my view, isn't really for pros looking for hauls (although it is a way for buyers to find someone if they want to go that route)- its more for us amateurs who want to help each other out.

Nothing personal, but I just thought it would be harder to trust an unkown hauler than the seller, whos to say he just wont ride off into the sunset with your tractor,,sorry for being so paranoid guys,,but its just not a very nice world out there these days.

Got one going to New York, but as far west as we'll be going is St. Louis...Oh well.
Post an add on the hauling schedule to the left. Works like a charm. John
