I dated a girl once that said I didn't have enough of ampacity. She left me for two other girls.

Thanks Allan for the chuckle and bringin' me back to my senses (humor). Cripes, I was turnin' into Ron. Someone go find him and bring him back before I have another relapse.

A neat page showing all kinds of Electrical Terms. Now we can have all kinds of things to pick apart in conversations. I just might save this so I can brush up on the new ones or old ones I forgot. That word is in there too. Mark H.

Just did a google search....looks like it's for real.
They quote the nat. elec. code as using it.
Still sound kind of funkey to me. But then I all way did have problems understanding these kids. :-)

After a long life with electronics I have to admit I never heard of it. But then people here tell me that a "cheater" is not a piece of pipe used on a wench and is something else. Guess things vary with time and location.

Ken, I find that using adult beverages on my wenches usually achieves the desired effect.

Too funny, ain't it, and all before coffee? And who would figure someone ELSE would have one earlier version of that same book within reach? I just happened to be at work, and mine was about 3 feet behind me, so it was a ready reference. I might just have to get a copy for at home, just for these forums!

It's like on the machining forums, everyone on there seems to have a copy of Machinery's Handbook beside their computer to quote from.

I was impressed! Seemed to be a logical, common sense kinda word. Just didn't have any reference to it.

It's what that big town in Florida writes on the doors of their trucks, but due to budget cuts, couldn't afford all the letters.

Allan;

Ampacity is the current carring capacity of a wire. The electricians will correct me on this but that is a close description. Now you are probably throuly confused.

UH,correction. Should be the current carrying capacity of a conductor. Like in an electrical conductor,not a train conductor.

And candy is dandy but
Liquor is quicker.
