Dear friend, I am Walter Clark, a project manager with the federal ministry of works and housing (fmwh). I obtained your email from the internet, while searching for a reliable person, who could assist us in receiving gratification from contractors awarded contracts executed under the current budgetary allocation for nddc. These bills had been approved for payment by the concerned ministry. The contracts had been executed, commissioned. What we are about to receive now is gratification from the contractors whom we helped obtain the contracts and process their payments. On our part, all modalities had been worked out in ensuring a smooth transaction within the next Ten days. All I want from you is your details to enable these foreign contractors forward the gratification to you on our behalf, because as government officials we cannot collect directly from them, neither are we allowed by law to operate foreign accounts. I will like you to provide immediately your full names, address and telephone number if you are interested. Please note: there will be no financial obligation required from you and this transaction is risk free. For each gratification received by you on our behalf, you are entitled to 10% of that sum. As soon as you indicate your interest, further instructions will be passed on to you on the procedure that we will follow in accomplishing this deal. Kindly reach me immediately furnishing me with your details as stated above. Looking forward to hearing from you. Best regards, Walter Clark

What agency should this be presented to...if it is real...?? Sure would like to put a STOP to this kind of Graft....!! Ron..

Why don't you just delete this crap and get on with your life? Too much time is wasted discussing this same junk over and over. Unless you are getting dozens of such messages a day it's not worth bothering with, everyone recognizes it as a scam. And if you are getting bombarded with such messages, ask yourself what kind of sites you have been visiting and where your email address is exposed.

Ron,
In all sincerity, do you really need to ask if this is a scam?

If this is real then a Federal Employee is trying to work a way to receive a bribe--which is illegal. Otherwise it's a scam. Forward the e-mail to the FBI and/or the GAO and sit back.

This is another variation of the Nigerian scam that has been around for years. Now tey are on the internet because postal inspectors cracked down on their use of the mail. Be careful, because you are the intended victim.Typically they would send you a bogus cashiers check, have you deposit it in your account, then send them a check for the 90% left after your fee. When their check bounces, you are left holding the bag. There is no recourse on these international transactions.

Last week I passed on getting millions of dollars. Some kind soul from Nigeria wanted to give me the better part of $15,000,000,all I had to do was supply my bank account numbers and other banking info. That same day another E mail informed me that I had won $1,000,000 in the european lottery(funny I dont remember buying a ticket.),and all I had to do was send them a few thousand to speed the processing of my winning E mail lottery number so I could recieve my $1,000,000. I decided that much money just causes misery,so I deleted these kind offers.:)

You could send it to the "Lads From Lagos" site! A nice site where folks sorta "mess with the heads" of scammers! A nice site to read! You'd be surprised just what folks do to these IDIOTS!! I have a separate e-mail file for the 411 scam spams, one of these days, I'm gonna do one myself! Mess with their heads, NOT do another 411 scam!! Go to it, you'll be glad, OK??

Yes, there is a way to stop them. When we all quit being greedy, hoping to get something for nothing, and a little light bulb goes on in everyone's head that if something seems to be too good to be true, it most likely is!

Once this happens, and everyone just ignores the scammers, and there is no ill-gotten profit in it for them they'll quit wasting their time sending the scam emails!

Just like the telemarketers... they had enough people respond, and buy from them that it was a profitable endeavor, even though most people seem to HATE telemarketers calls. If no one would have bought from them, they would have shut down years before the government put the clampdown on them, if there ceased to be a profit in it.

So, lets all IGNORE the scammers, and they'll go away! (Eventually!)

It appears that a good part of their focus is preying on the elderly- 60 Minutes or Dateline had a segment on them last weekend- they got several old folks for tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars on the Canadian lottery scam.
