Recently I sold a tractor hood to a Tim Kimmel from Magnolia MN . But his real name is Kim Kimmel Tims Father . He is useing his sons name to buy and sell on this site . so far I have received no money and he has the hood .Kim has a repair shop called Hiltabrandt diesel in Adrian . I talked with the private investiagator in Luverne MN he said he is a real con artist he buys and sells tractors . when he buys he cancels his check and sells it when he sells it he keeps the money and the tractor too. I cant believe this site lets him do it .he uses the phone number 507-967-2109 his shop #is 507-483-2111

I too was "taken" by a lowlife down in south central Iowa. I asked him point-blank questions about the tractor...all of which he replied "were good". He lied like he!!. He peddles tractors on this site and has an obsecenely overpriced SMTA in the ads here. We should all get together and expose these crooks for what they are.

I think these people can help you if you have your ducks in a line, meaning receipts, receipt of delivery, letters or email showing contact to purchase etc...
You will be filing with the FBI but they pass it on to local jurisdictions but the local yokel sheriff has to answer back to the FBI instead of giving you a run around.

Thank you for the heads up. This doesn't make it any easier for you, and hopefully you have learned from this, but you should never ship an item, or let the buyer have possesion, until after the check has cleared the bank. That way it makes no difference if he cancels payment, you would still have the hood.

I guess a person cannot trust anyone . live and learn . it would not be so bad but it was a hood for a smta diesel a hard to find item I think I will drive out there with the sheriff and take the hood back but they figure it is allready gone . I contacted the private investagator he told me this will really help to prosecute him with all the other cases they have against him

Marty, don't feel too bad, I just got scammed myself. One of those wholesale warehouse deals. Problem is I did my homework on this one and everything checked out before I sent in my order. I did recieve my order, however it was not the quality item that had been represented. Like you said, you can't trust anyone anymore.

had a close one over the weekend myself. Sold a machine for $25,000 & took Cashier Check on a bank in same state about 65 miles away, on Sat. nite. Duhhh. Looking closely, check had no safety devices; no watermark, no thermochromic icon(changes color from heat of your hand), no microprinting as a signature line. Even the check no. was not printed at the bottom with the bank routing nos. Not even address or phone no. on it, just bank logo & name. Went to FDIC site & found 10 counterfeit checks I would have taken & slept soundly. They print a list of banks that are finding counterfeit writen on them, lost shipments of real checks presumed stolen, forgeries, etc. Read on the hot rod site how many trucks & cars are stolen using fake checks. Thief buys a real cashiers check, copys & alters it with good copiers & even bankers can't tell the difference. I couldn't even read the bank officers signature- just loops & squiggles! Mon. morn called his bank & ck was GOOD. Deposit it at my bank & tellers were all gathered around it gawking. Hadn't seen anything like it in 10 yrs. Lesson here is NEVER let the machine go until the deposited check has gone thru & money is IN YOUR ACCT. They can stop those checks & run off with equipment & their money, disappear & your OUT.
