I got a JD 4050 tractor and the air conditioner does not cool very good we have checked everything but when it sets up for a few days it will leak out the freon but as long as it is running it will cool or some what cool. It does have 134A. Changed the compressor last year and I am wondering if it could be leaking out the seal in the compressor. Put some die in it and checked up in the cab and still can't find the leak,is there some place in particular that they are bad about leaking at? Thanks

My AC repairman charges the system with nitrogen to find a leak. Mine was leaking around the compressor shaft after 178,000 miles in 12 years. Took it to a AC supply house and they completely resealed the compressor for $75.

Nail I like to use a bottle of sealer that you can get at Advance or Auto Zone as it is hard to get everything tightened up to where it won't have some slow leaks.

The AC lines (Steel) run up to the top of the cab through the left rear cab post. These lines tend to rust and get pin hole leaks. Get a refrigerant sniffer at the bottom of the cab post where the lines enter. If it sounds off,you have found your leak.

I was at a county fair this week and there was a booth selling Red Tek 12. It is supose to be colder than r 12, lower head presure and cheaper. Does anyone have any expierence with this? It sounds good.
