Just checking in while I have some limted battery power. Not much hurricane damage. Been without power for 3rd day straight. Maybe sometime soon.

Got over 19 inches of rain !!! Found some interesting leaks in the new house, need to follow up with installer. Biggest issue was last night when generator ran out of gas, sump pump on the septic stopped. More rain than the system could handle. It backed up through the shower drain. We woke up to 1" of septic waste water in the master bath with it heading fast to the master bedroom. UUHHGG!! No floaters though :)

Will post pics of the flooding later when I get back to work tomorrow. Other than that we are all ok, thanks for checking on us.

We are getting back to normal here in the Brandon area. We got alot of wind blowing down alot of trees and probably close to 10 inches of rain. Scttered power outages, lost ours for about 30 hours. It is messy but all the family is fine and thats what counts. Thanks for everybodies thoughts and prayers.

Tim

So far, so good out here in the Florida Big Bend area. Plenty of rain, maybe 6" so far. Lots of high wind.. 40, maybe 50 mph gusts, maybe higher. My Ford 841 is wrapped up tight with a tarp and bungee cords. Waiting for things to calm down a bit so that I can start picking up the thousands of small branches and limbs. Lost 2 or 3 med pine trees so far, and one small oak topped it self for some reason. A larger oak lost about half of its top. Its leaning horizontal into another tree about 20 feet off the ground. Going to be interesting getting that down. The amazing part is that my power is still on. Plenty of dips, flickers and brownouts. Who woulda thunk it ?

T_Bone - we are fine down here south of Tampa in Englewood. The wind really wasn"t that bad(maybe 50 m.p.h.), and now we are just getting quite a bit of rain. I have several tractors in canopy tents (ran out of room in the shed), and it was a good thing I tied the canopys to the tractors.

Overall, just fine...thanks for asking.

Had a 70 under a canopy and pine tree fell on it. Bent the steering shaft, broke off the air stack and muffler and did a real number on the nose and hood. It was a real nice 70.

I"m not really thrilled with canopys either. I have two that will each hold four tractors....with trees around it. Not a good thing...but all that I have for now.

I pushed over several pines before hurricane charley, using the back hoe to guide them away from the tents.

Someday I will build a decent barn....

Hi Jon,

Good it don't sound like it hit too bad. From the pics on TV , it looked like there was big time damage in certian areas.

Couple years ago we had a micro-burst come thru and flippied a few trailers over. Took about 1/2 of my shop roof off. It lasted for about 2min then was gone, sun still shinning...lol

We sure got two heavy rains here in SE AZ on Fri. and Sat. Those microbursts during the monsoon season here in the Gila Valley can sure rip it up though.

And now we are eyeballing Hurricane Ivan....this is some year. I think the fellows up in the mid west also had some really crazy weather with early cold snaps and tornadoes.

To paraphrase Mark Twain..."If you don't like the weather, just wait a minute."

And.... the weather is something everyone talks about, but nobody does anything about it!
