9N vs. 2N - no material differences other than serial numbers.

9N/2N vs. 8N
- 9N/2N left and right brakes on opposite sides ; 8N on same side
- 9N/2N tranny 3speed + reverse ; 8N tranny 4 speed + reverse
- 9N/2N no way to mount swing drawbar under diffy ; 8N has 4 bolts for mounting
- 9N/2/N draft control only ; 8N draft and position control (biggest operational difference)
- Lots of other minor differences

8N more useful beyond just plowing due to position control (can be added to 9N/2N for $80).

8N with side distributor cap for easy access. Make sure it has a 3 pt hitch (I've seen a couple some have been removed). Nice little tractor. Easier to work the feet on clutch/brake pedals than 9N. My 2cents. We have one for sa1e and a buyer lady prospect just whizzed around the yard with it last night. Loved it. Dee
