steep ground

a buddy told me that if i was going down and was worried about tractor sliding that i could go down in reverse. i went up a steep place and tires slipped some,,so after hoggin a while i backed down the hill and think it is a good way if you have a low reverse.

Yea, as Tim said, you were 180 degrees wrong on that! Backing up a hill is the safest.

You have to be kidding, at least I hope you are.
If you aren't and you did eek up a steep hill nose first and down it tail first you should count yourself lucky you made it alive.
