To all of you who love "old tractors",
I am looking for a tractor like my grandpa's but can't seem to determine make/model. My older sister thinks it was an International, I seem to think it might have been a Massy, but never the less this is what we do remember.
It was pre-50's, most likely late 30's to mid 40's.
It was a crank start.
It had normal width front tires ( not the little ones close together)
On the dash area, to the right of the steering wheel it had a large lever that I believe was the clutch, but could have had something to do with the speed... It only had 3 areas to move it in. up was full stop, then there was the middle area (a lever stop) which made it go faster, then the very bottom (lever stop) where she flew....
My grandpa and dad loved to reach over the pull the level when I was driving as a youngster (about the age of 5). When the tractors from end would raise they would laugh and laugh. My expression must have been priceless, but it at least taught me to be a good driver. LOL
I drove this tractor from the age of 5 to 20 on grandpa's and dad's peach ranch. My husband and I just restored an 8N like the 2nd tractor on the ranch.. I am now trying to find my favorite, the "old crank start"
If you have any quess's as to what kind it might be, so I can look for pictures and hopefully find one, I would be truly beholdant.

Have a great day and thank you
sharon

Like Bob said, check under "Tractor Photos". If it was RED, it probably was International or Massey. Look under FARMALL, MASSEY, and INTERNATIONAL photos. You might recognize it in there somewhere.

On the left of this web page, under "galleries", punch up "tractor photos". There's over 10,000 of them. There are a lot of "photo history of farm tractors"-type books out there, also. Check ebay or amazon.com.
