I have to go over a hay field tomorrow and seek out the rocks that have been hammering the disk mowers this year. I was wondering today if something like a Stonebear might work on a newly clipped field rather than just in loose soil. Something to ponder, but I doubt it. Depending how large and flat your field is, and what size rocks you're fishing out, you might be able to use one of those powered landscape rakes to take some of the labor out of your job. They mount to your tractor's 3-pt and are PTO driven. It somewhat resembles a box scraper, but the box is open in the front and rear, with a spiked roller in the center. The PTO turns the roller backwards, against your forward travel. As you drive along, the spikes on the roll scratch the ground and kick the rocks ahead. When too many stones collect in front of the roll, they start to slip outward and past the sides of the implement. You'll end up with a windrow of debris on both sides of the path you pulled it over, and a pile of debris at the end of the row when you pick it up. You should be able to rent one to try out. Might not work for you, and would possibly wrap and pull up your grass.
