I've looked and looked but I still haven't found a link that would let me join YT to reserve a username. Am I just blind?

I know what that you are talking about as I changed mine because someone in Minn. started using the same one as I was , that was a couple of years ago and he didn't post on here over a couple of months and either dropped out or changed user name. I use my area ( North Ala )as they are not likely to use your area as they are some other nickname.

Yup, when you make a post, just pick a name. Maybe browse through some of the forums to see if anything you have in mind is already being used so you don't double up. Then of course when you get into some touchy or nasty discussion areas and you want to put in your two cents you can always go incognito and use something else. You're not bound to stick with whatever you decide on. Have fun, we all have a ton of it here.

When you make a post, it should give you the opportunity to reserve your username.
