Does anyone here know where I can buy a thumb or claw with hyd. cylinder to add onto my loader bucket? Don't need one very large. The loader is rated at 3,200 lbs.

I pushed a building down and it sure would make it go faster cleaning up to grab a load and hold on to it.

What make is the loader? You should be able to contact a dealer or the mfg. of the loader and get one that is made to fit.

I agree,

Any good loader will have an optional grapple.

We had to tear down an old house on a lot. I built a thumb for the 508se backhoe to pickup debris and load on a dump truck. I built it out of 1 X 3 flat steel. Really helped a lot. Also built a clamp device for a front loader bucket that would close as you tilted the bucket all the way back. Won't get to use it till cooler weather. We have a lot of brush and limbs to get rid of and want to wait for cooler weather to minimize snake and stinging insect problems. Can take a picture of the clamp on the bucket. It was simple to make and didn't need any extra hyds.

Geok can you post the picture here on this site or do you need my e-mail addy to send it to? I'd sure like to see it. Sounds like you made what I'm looking for. I only need something in the middle of the bucket to just keep the mess from falling out. What I see for sale is far more than I need. Most have two cylinders and cover the whole bucket. I don't need the extra weight of those full size jaws.

The only ones I have seen are on ebay. I think they are listed as a grapple. I don't have any experience with them. You are going to need an additional valve to control the thumb (grapple). I have wanted one for my backhoe, but wanted to talk to someone who had one before buying.
