Goofy password scheme

A couple of days ago someone decided to password protect the name "Ron". No problem, I'm a big boy and if someone else wants to be me for a while that's fine.

But when I tried to use another name "Igor", it worked... the first time. Then my posts started getting lost. So I tried in a couple of different boards with the same result. Then I looked into this "cookie" thing and saw that someone had placed a cookie on my computer with someone else's name in it! So now it looks like some hacker is following me around changing names. Again, no problem, as I automatically delete cookies at the end of each session. But it looks like until whomever responsible for this goofy password scheme fixes it, I'll just use a different name for each post. But I'll tag them with...

Better run a couple of virus and spyware scanners. I t sounds like the person following you around is under your desk.

I think that you're right. A good spyware or antivirus software sounds like is needed. I had spyware, even subscribe to one, don't remember what was - should've created a backup disk before went crazy deleting stuff I didn't recognize - and they told me too to. I didn't. Then once couldn't do a thing my processor was so tied up - went to Task Manager and saw my processor running at 99% as soon as I'd reboot - identified unknown program and deleted it. Then everytime I'd turn on computer would get a screen pop telling me that something wanted to go on line (trojan). Guess I didn't learn enough from class on Cisco's new security software and enough is/was enough, have a subscription to Norton now.

There seem to be a few flaws in the system yet, but working better today. I accept cookies, but still need to re-submit my password each time.

I'm just as puzzled by it all as you. I notice people can also change subject lines too now.

Kim is usually pretty good at working the bugs out; if you are having troubles, send her a message. Guess I figured on waiting a few days & see what shakes out. :)
