Thanks for all of your help for those that have helped. I did go to our ranch and took pictures of it. It has 60 in front on the grill. the pictures do not show the side panels because they are off. My Dad did use this tractor plus and Old John Deere on the property. I can only give the information that I know about this tractor, that's why I logged onto this site, hoping for answers. Once again thanks for the helpful tips. It is posted for sale, now.

You may be off on year, the 60 was built from 40 to 48 and was the only 4 cylinder tractor built without hydrolics or without electrical system, this tractor would have between a 28" to 34" rear wheel while the 66 would have a 38" rear wheel and hydrolics and starter

Hello
The tractor you are discribeing more then likely is a 66 0liver. They was the only 4 cylinder narrow front olivers made in them years you listed. On olivers then years they had the serial number in one of 2 places the later year ones had it by your left knee on the dash. The early ones it was located on the side of the transmission on the right side ahead of the brake.
I hope this helps youo out some
Bob

You're wasting your time trying to sell something you can't ID.

Olivers had models #'s on them, like "66" or "88". It's on the front of the tractor. There will be a model/serial # plate; these are in different locations depending upon the model. There will be #s cast into the engine and manifolds.

If you can get all this information, then someone on the Oliver board on this site will be able to ID it for you.

Next step is to determine if the tractor is complete, if the engine runs, and the % tread left on the tires, and the condition of the sheet metal. Is it all there? How rusty/dented is it?

Once you have that you can begin to determine it's value. At the low end are tractors that are incomplete (parts missing) that don't run. These are essentially scrap. At the high end is a near perfect tractor that someone drove into a barn 50 years ago and hasn't been touched since. Such a tractor might be worth $1,200 if you find a motivated collector. Most tractors from that era are worth less than what you are asking.

Thought you said it needs a home, I'd be happy to take it.

This site does prefer you keep ads to the classified section, not out in the discussion forums. As is stated at the top of most all web pages here.

If you write an ad anyhow and don't care if you are rude to people, at least include location, tractor model, & contact info in the first place.

Kinda hard to do business with a person without any of that.

Gosh, what it really is would be helpful. Maybe you could go to the Oliver pictures on here and find on like it. Some detail about condition would also be helpful. "Barn stored" could mean it's sat rusting in a wet corner with flat tires for 30 years with an ever increasing accumulation of bird droppings, or it could mean it's used quite regularly and kept in fine condition. You surely realize how the value could really be affected by things like that.
