Hello all, there is a 13006 Deutz tractor for sale locally. What are the experiencs that everyone has had with this brand? Are parts available? What does a novice need to know to have a Deutz make sense? Thank you.
Z

A heads up on the 13006 is that most of them only have 1000 rpm pto. You can put a coarse spline shaft in them and slow the rpm as to not over-rev. the gearbox of whatever you are running behind the tractor. They are a very nice tractor of the 06-series though! Drawbar hp. is well over 100 and pound for pound will outpull any tractor of comparable size on half the fuel! If you have any questions, call Walt's Tractor Salvage at (417)632-4364. He is located in Fairview, MO. and has a huge selection of new and used parts.

just to see how "expensive" parts are why don't you price,,,lets say a new brake master cylinder for that tractor. some here will say to purchase used parts at a junk dealer.

We've owned a D13006 with MFWD for over 20 years without any major problems. The parts are avaible, but are expensive. Keep the cooling fins around the cylinders and the oil cooler clean to prevent overheating, and don't let it run out of fuel. It's a real pain to get all the air out of the system, and it won't do more than idle with any air in it. We used it for our primary tillage tractor when we were row cropping, but it's retired to the shed now. Ours would out pull and out work any tractor of any color up to 150 hp and use 1/2 the fuel doing it. It pulled equipment all day (disks & rippers) that 4430's and 1086's couldn't move.

We have a Deutz 5506. It has been one great tractor. It's about 30 years old now and no problems to speak of. We have a dealer near us that can get parts for us but they are spendy! If anything major went wrong with it, he recommended we junk it. Don't think we would do that. Parts can still be gotten thru Agco Allis dealer.
