I attended an auction sunday afternoon, and bought several pallets of different items. I went to pick up my treasures Monday, and found some items missing. I can put up with a lot, but when people steal from me I consider them to be real A-- holes. I guess this is just a sign of the times. Now I can go to bed. Stan

That's why I never buy anything at auction that I'm not prepared to pick up right away. People somehow have the notion that items that haven't been picked up right away are in limbo and, therefore, available for the taking so they don't really consider it stealing - which it definitely is.

I agree, either take it with you when you leave, or make arrangements for the item to be put in a secure place until you can make it back. I have been to auctions where you needed to take small items to your truck immediately after getting the winning bid or it wouldn't be there when you came back. It also doesn't hurt to carry a permanent marking pen with you and put your buyer number on the item immediately after getting the winning bid

stan, not a sign of the times. At Dads clean up sale in 1988 a buyer bought some old horse drawn equipment to restore. Before he could come back and pick it up junkman cut it up for scrap. I am inclined to think stuff like that has been happening as long as there have been auctions.
