i have a 89 ford f 250 thathas a short in the ac compressor/ blower wiring. it all started when i moved the selector from off to ac. i heard a pop and later found that the blower fuse under the dash had melted. i replaced the blower motor with no change. the fuse still melts when i move the the selector from off to ac or max or defrost. i took the switch out of the console that controls the fan speed and the heat and cooling/heating and tested them and they appear to be working properly. both leads to the ac compressor show to be grounded on my ohmmeter. i think the switch in the steering coloumn is where the short is.

what i think i need is a wiring diagram for an 89 ford truck so i can wire around the ignition switch in the steering column to see if that is where the problem is.

any body got a wiring diagrm i will pay for copying and your trouble

any other ideas. oh yeah, the blower will work at all speeds if i leave the climate control selector on blower. thanks for your concern. bh

The Haynes repair manuals have some fairly decent wiring diagrams. The Chilton diagrams are not as good or they are not included at all at times.
