Bought a 1995 Ford 3930. Let my brother-in-law use it. He left the thermostart on and killed the battery. Did that also kill the thermostart?

How did he do that? If working properly, to use thermostart, the operator has to hold the key against spring pressure similar to the crank position. Sounds like the BIL is getting hosed when a tractor component failed. Unless he sat there holding it till the battery went dead.

Maybe or maybe not. Put in a new battery, then follow the tests in the Repair Manual to check it out. If it is shot then your brother-in-law owes you for a battery and a thermostart
