I am in the process of stripping the paint off of the body parts of my farmall H. I really don't want to blast them because I don't want to distort the tins. I have tried using paint stripper and it seams to take several coats to get down to the bare metal. The one piece I have ended up sanding the large areas. Is there a super stripper out there or some home made formula to remove paint. I would like all of your thoughts. thanks.

I have used the lye gravy. It works just don't get in a hurry. It may take several coats but it is not expensive. I used it on my JD AR. It is best to use it on a hot day put on a good heave coat (be sure to use rubber gloves and a face shield the lye will burn if it gets on your skin) when you put on a coat give it time to work and keep a hose handy to keep a mist on the lye to keep it active don't let it dry out. After it quits working use a good high presure and wash off the lye. When you are finished and ready to prime just use soap and water and wash the lye off. It must be off or the primer will not stick.
Good luck just be careful. John.

Here is a link to a site where a guy uses "lye gravy" to remove paint, says it works well and is cost effective. I have yet to give it a try. http://www.fboerger.com/restoration%20tips.htm
