I noticed that my tires seem a little low. I had them put on new several years ago, and never noticed a low tire. I checked the tire pressure in the rear tires ( Firestone 14.9 x 28 ) and it only checked at 10lbs. This seems really low, but the tires didn't seem to bad. The fronts only checked 20 lbs. I upped the rears to 12lbs and the fronts to 25lbs. Do these numbers sound ok? Thanks, Irv

If bias tires usually 12psi & up. Radials are 6 psi and up. How many tread bars are touching the ground when parked on a flat smooth surface?

I totally disagree with you on your tire pressures for both bias and radials. I think dealers will support the numbers I posted. I have three field tractors with radial tires- been buying them since they first came out, and would never run below 16 psi. By the way- since I supported your position on the value of buying tractor manuals- did you notice that 'Bob', who bad-mouthed us for that post, told someone else on a previous post, to consult the manual regarding pulley removal? Another reason to not lose any sleep over the naysayers- we volunteer to share our knowledge and experience, and someone will always bellyache and call us names. Plus, on the original post, there were those who agreed. Win some, lose some, while the gonad-less post with phony screen names.

Rear tractor tires are generally in the 16-18psi range. Fronts, two and three rib, 32-35? Implement, if used as front, especially with a loader, 40-50 psi. Check your tire for recommended psi.

I looked on the tires, and couldn't find a number. The fronts do say implement. I am going to use another gage. This one is brand new, maybe goof out of the box. Thanks for the prompt response. Irv.
