rebuilt cub motor puffs smoke when turning tractor

Hi , Hopefully someone knows why this happens restored 1948 cub with rebuilt motor tractor seems to run fine but when i try two use the mower to cut grass and i make a turn the tractor puffs a little smoke could this be that the govoner is not set right i tried to set the carberator ,timing plus the govoner by the manual but sometimes it seems iam not getting full thottle on the gas lever tried to adjust that two as much as i can any help would be much appreciated thanks Bill

Is the choke maybe not opening all the way? What color is the smoke? Are you lacking or losing power?

tractor puffs blue smoke after turning the tractor but than stops it does this only after the tractor gets hot seems like iam lacking power because i have to have the throttle fully advanced plus it looks like the oil presure drops a little bit

Blue smoke normally indicates oil burning, are you sure you don't have it ovefull on oil (3 quarts). Also is the oil filter cup overfull. Another possibility is the carb float level, though it usually is black smoke.

Ok does black smoke mean the tractor is getting to little gas with the carb float adjustment or to much thanks Bill

If it's black smoke, it's running too rich. Too much gas..... ..Stan
