I posted an ad on this site the other day advertising for some John Deere parts and tractors. This AM I got an e-mail from a suspicious source offering to sell me a "like new tractor like I want." No model stated, or brand, or serial number. The sender stated he was from Kansas in the states, used broken english, and wanted to make sure I gave him a bunch of unnecessary information when I e-mailed him back. I smell a scam coming! Buyers...beware of reply's to your e-mails!

Scott,
This is the first time I have logged on the computer and browsed this site in at least a week. What kind of John Deere parts? I am in need of a carburator to fit an old JD 630. Due to my lack of experience, and not working around the equipment very much in the last 18 1/2 years I managed to ruin the one that was on it. If you have one please let me know.

Thanks,
Jimm

Mike,
I have sent you an email to the address that you put into the thread. Hopefully it's recieved and/or doesn't get the old "undeliverable" notice.

Jim (jimmykey@yahoo.com) or if it is working, try eurotex@zia.net

"Now, it's buyer beware!"????

Wasn't it always "buyer beware"?

Now it is buyer AND seller beware.

I live in a sparely populated area, basically hick’s county USA, still there is quite a lot of used machinery that changes hands around here. I even see local’s ads and auctions on the internet (ebay, yt, Artis, etc).

One of our prominent county leaders just got nixed by this scam. Made page one headlines in the local weekly paper. This person is LIVID for not being protected from this scam. WHERE IS THE FBI?? WHAT’S WRONG WITH OUR FEDERAL GOVT??

Our scammed leader’s salary from the public trough is about 3 times that of the average 2 income family living here.

I’ve lived here a long time and have never heard of one of us dumb ole hicks being scammed so how did that happen.

One word: GREED

I have recieved a few e-mails of the same nature, I can understand some poor spelling in an e-mail, but broken english? In an e-mail? Even if the sender doesn't speak fluent english, his computer does speak good english. I usually just ignore and delete all of those messages.
