Anyone ever heard of putting sway bars on a fast hitch to keep it rigid? I have my hitch set up per the manual in the rigid position but it still sways a good 6 inches left to right. Are there some type of wear plates/shoes on the fast hitch that maybe mine is missing?

thanx

I've found that when the bolts/pins get worn and sloppy the play gets excessive. Even a few thousandths of wear per pin adds up to a lot of sway. If replacing them with new ones doesn't help, ream the holes to the next bigger size and install new bolts and keep them tight. These drawbars will never be as rigid as a fixed one, but this will help.

Jerry: That was the main problem with fast hitch as far as I'm concerned. When you use it for a pull type drawbar you, beat the crap out of linkage, pins, etc. I had one on a 560 back when they were new, had to rebuild it every year. After the second or third time it just wouldn't stay. Finally I removed it and installed an M type swinging drawbar. I did a lot of drawbar work so the wear was excessive.

It is common to put in sway blocks to take away sway from the hitch. The parts vary per tractor so the best thing to do is check the manual or with a dealer.
