buy one of Roger Welch's books, you'll learn a lot while laughing away.

do some research on different tractor models. read, read, read... then look for a tractor you like,[your going to look at it for awhile], that doesnt need tons of work to make it servicable. something in your area maybe thats plentiful. easy to get parts for. i would not recomend a basket case or a serious project. youll be overwhelmed before you start. get a friend thats knowledgable about mechanics. they can help you in your choice and help with the work. dont be in a hurry to finish, everything takes time. do what it takes to fix it,.... youll know whether you want to do one again. pg

Get one that doesn't need a lot of mechanical work, but maybe just needs a few dents pounded out, a few parts replaced, very few, mostly used if you can find them, and then a coat of paint. This is a good way to start, and while you are looking things over on your tractor project, you can see how these old girls worked, giving you more insight into how they ran, and you just can't help but learn more on each new project. Then when you make your first sale, and make a little more than you spent, you just jump up and down, and that is what it is all about. Good luck, Harley1983
