Replacing the starter on a ford 8n

How do you remove the sratrer to replace it. I went to start the tractor I hit the starter heard a snap now nothing. It doesn't do anything now but clicks

Rick,
If it just clicks once, first try what gene said.
If it is a steady clicking "machine gun " type clicking as you hold the switch in start then you have low voltage, possibly a bad battery or bad cables. Hope this helps, jstpa

Ford starters are bad about locking up when they get wear and age on them. Try putting tractor in high gear and rocking it backwards to see if the starter will disengage from the flywheel.
