We bought a J.D. 1985 "2150" and was given a serial no.over the phone and when we brought her home the serial # on it was different from what we were told. Now we think maybe it's not a 1985 tractor. the serial is CD3179D66D686. Is there any way to tell if this # belongs to a 1985 "2150".It really wouldn't matter except we want to insure the right tractor. Thanks, Judy

Judy: Glad to hear you got your tractor. Look on the right side of the tractor frame. 2150 serial # went as follows:

562001 = 1986 532000 = 1985 505001 = 1984 433467 = 1983

Bill(WIS), You must be the one that helped me find out if we had a "2150" or not. Thanks so much for that and your most recent info. As I just told T213R, You guys are great and know so much. My husband works with heart, soul, muscles, and hands, thats why I have to do the computer stuff, but know this he really appreciates the help. Judy

That is the motor serial number. the "3179" in it refers to THREE cylinders, 179cid. There will be a different serial number tag on that tractor somewhere which will be the actual machine serial number!
