Anyone in the import export business that is 'for real' who contacts you will not try to make a deal with you directly. They will want to work through you export agent here in the US (or Canada) or at the very least your improt/export attorney. I have done some international buying and selling and even though I my correspond direct with the buyer/seller everything is handled by 'agents'. There is too much involved with port permits, customs, container bookings, etc not to.

Has he made you a deal? There are buyers for export. He should not be to hard to figure out if he is for real.

There are a thousand of these scammers. They will send you a fake international check, well done or a copy of a real one so it takes longer to clear than your bank realizes. You send them the 'extra' few thousand back from their check, and suddenly your bank demands all the money back.

No one will ever look at your machinery.

This scam is several years old, thought everyone would have known about it by now.
