I have made a recent discovery which has left me somewhat puzzled. I wonder if anyone can offer some insight. From within an overgrown fence row, I pull what appears to be some variety of (?)horse(?) drawn roller or packer impliment. The business end has four rollers on a single axle that turn independantly of on another. The frame-work of the piece is somewhat ornate with hearts cast into it and on top of the frame where a bench would be fastened, some spindle looking design gives further decoration. It does have some marking on it. "The Boss Roller", and "PATENTED FEBRUARY 19, 1901". The tongue is deformed from something being backed into it. The original color is unknown. The frame has a hint of green left on it and the rollers have some red. ANY information would be appreciated! Thanks a bunch!!CAB

Better get it home and ready to restore as it will make neat yard art. Those old horse drawn rollers had some very neat castings as did the rest of the horse drawn machinery.
