Are loaders like the f 11 or the ih 2001 or jd 148 etc more stable than the old no.30 ih loaders on narrow front end tractors. I have an m farmall with narrow front and a no. 30 loader just wondering if the loaders that sets farther a head of the rear axle would be more or less stable. For like loading large bales or just general all around use. I know wide front would be best but just wondering if it more or less likey to turn over with the newer style loaders.

The newer models that you have mentioned would definately be more versatile and easier to use but under no circumstances should they be considered safer. Your tractor will overturn just as easily with the F-11 as it will with the old McCormick #30. Equipping your tractor with a wide front end will only slightly help, keep in mind that when using a loader, it is the rear wheels of the tractor that lose contact with the ground, not the front. Loader safety is all about knowing your machine and using your head.
