I almost forgot, the tractor hasn't run since fall and Didn't start for us. After two head tech's from work .(a car dealership) came to help, we found it was a bad starter ingition ,you know , where the key goes, it didn't always connect. so we by passed the system and I will fix Monday. Also, the thing is cold blooded and needs to be chocked(sp) be fore it will go. later,

The key switch is a notorious weak link. A lot of guys have replaced it with a strong toggle switch. Also, if the tractor has lights you may want to wire them direct to the terminal block rather than through the key switch circuit to lessen some of the voltage running through that switch.

Congrats on the new machine. Sounds like a cheap price. It's typical to need some choke to start.

Is it a 840, 850, 860, .... 4 or 5 speed, live pto, power steering, etc.?

To answer your question on the model ,I don't know . has live pto and a 5sp , no power steering. front loader works fine. The backhoe after about 10 minutes starts coming down. So I have to stop, engage pto and lift it back in place. Will work on later.
