I have a 1957 Allis Chalmers D14. I own around 30-40 acres of feilds. They do not have any brush in them it is just nice grass. For the most part the feilds are smooth but there are rough areas. I have found a 6' pull type brush hog. Will a pull type brush hog work for me? Or is it absolutely necessary to get a 3-point hog? I appreciate any help.

A 3-point hog will help out in tight areas, but out in the field i think you will like pull type a lot better. For 30-40 acres i'd say your pull type is better than a 3-point.

Depends on the size of the fields and any difficult-to-manoevre areas. Should be OK, just not as convenient as picking up on three point.

a trail type is definitly superior. Heavier, don't weight the tractor down in soft spots, easier to hook up, doesn't break hitch parts when you go thru a ditch. manuverable---can you back a boat trailer?outside round just drive thru the corner, just past it with the hog pointed into the corner, back up into the corner just like you do with a mounted hog.
