Can anyonetell me how to stop the fuel fromleaking from the block that is bolted with one bolt to the bottom of this pump? When it is unbolted and taken down off the pump, there is a small shaft with a ball on the end of it that fits into the governor block. My local IH dealer sent me an oval gasket to put around the opening this shaft sticks down through, and now it leaks worse than ever. Any ideas Hugh, or Nebraska Cowman, or anybody else out there that remembers a Roosa-Master pump?

Roosamaster parts are easy get from just about any diesel repair shop. I've rebuilt plenty of them, but not for an IH - so I don't know what model you have. Most I've worked on are DBs, CBs, or DB2s. What model pump is it?

It has been way too long since I worked on Roosamaster pumps, but here is a link to a really good outfit that will help you with any questions! And they do have parts for almost any diesel pump. (they sell rebuilt pumps to the tractor dealers across the midwest) They have Toll Free numbers that you can call.

{I have done business with the Effingham, Illinois store. They are great people!}

Called Jeff at the Effingham, Illinois store today and found out there is supposed to not ba a gasket between the "advance block" and the pump itself. What it boils down to is that there isn't supposed to be fuel there. It is leaking somewhere up inside the pump. You know what that means . That's right, $450 to $500 rebuild job. Ouch. Get what you pay for I guess, but that's about half what I paid for the tractor before I redid it. Oh well, thanks guys. Harley
