Went to an auction Saturday mixture of consignment and machinery jockey stuff with a little USDA forclosure and estate sale thrown in. Most stuff that was part of the jockey's stuff was bid back but there were a few good deals and a few way too high. Started at 9:30 am and was still going at 7:00 that evening.

Some highlights were:

Immaculate NH 278 for $3200
Rough 278 $500
Ford 7710 with busted block and rough for $2500 (USDA)
Several Ford 3000's in the $4000 range (should have bought some)
Shaver post driver, 8", $650 nice (I got this one)
Lots of plows for about $100 a bottom in good shape

90% of the stuff should have gone to melt down for scrap, pretty rough. I was with my dad, he wanted a MF 2404?? 99 model 75 hp CHA, nice but it brought $13500 out of the USDA line.

I'll bet you'll see alot more auctions to follow. I was looking though the local paper and there was several sales coming up this week alone. Of course it costs more to produce milk in Vermont than in other areas and thats the main reason why. There are alot of family farms that are going belly up and being sold, some for development, but most are getting snatched up by mega farmers who own 4-5 farms or more.
