Hello I am restoring a 1951 Avery #R4217 and have several questions. First how can one determine what decals should be placed on a 51 Avery - is it an Avery only or an MM Avery? This Avery was made the same year that MM bought Avery and put Avery MM decals on the tractors. If for example MM purchased Avery in November 1951 and this tractor was made in February then the proper decals would be Avery only. If of course the tractor was made after the aquisition then Avery MM decals. Also where can I find an exhaust manifold for this tractor. Thank you for your help! tlynn

Your tractor would be a BF Avery R built in 1951.The tractor were not R's when Minnie Moe made them they called them Minnie Moe BF.It would be red.I believe the only decals are on the sides of the hood where Avery put them all.Make sure when you get the manifold it is for the engine in an R,the manifold for the A is different.

What color was it originally? I would think that if it was red then it would have been the Avery and if yellow then the MM version. I'm not sure if any factory decals ever said MM Avery, there might have been something stencilled on I'm not sure. As for parts, search "Zimmerman Oliver Cletrac" on your website search engine, they have all that stuff and are located in the NE states, Pennsylvania I think. Would probably help you with the decaling question as well.
